As Help Desk Manager since March of 2000, Connie Mui-Reilly has blossomed in her position as the head of technology support for The Corcoran Group, a role which initially involved the firm’s Manhattan and Brooklyn offices. Today she supervises help desk interaction for all Corcoran offices throughout Florida and Long Island’s East End as well, and capably fulfills the diversity of corporate needs with the most cutting-edge information technology solutions.
Connie’s tremendous responsibilities include everything from overseeing multiple help desk staff to telecom support, purchasing and equipment management. A veteran of the IT industry for over a decade, she held a similar position on Wall Street prior to joining Corcoran at Oppenheimer Capital where she worked with brokers of a different kind.
Born in Macau, Connie moved to New York at age five so considers herself a true native. Her degrees in Psychology and Sociology from Stony Brook University really came in handy in her IT career, Connie feels, because it fueled her ability to understand people and deal with them most effectively. “Information technology is not just about computers; it’s about people and how they can make the most of their systems,” she says. “What I’m most proud of, however, is the role I’ve played as mentor to the fresh talent who have trained under me and grown in their positions, whether they are still with me at Corcoran or have moved on to greener pastures.”
Connie lives in Westchester with her husband and two young children. She recently rounded out her creative side by completing her degree in Image Consulting from the Fashion Institute of Technology in Manhattan. Connie also loves music and reading when time outside of work and family allows.
