“Never takes her eye off the ball.” “Lots and lots of energy and passion.” “Supportive, patient, and empathetic.” “Fun.” “Genuine.” “Hard-working.” “Honest and trustworthy.” This is how Chiqui’s current and former colleagues and clients from Corcoran and her previous careers in the nonprofit sector, the legal profession, and the financial services industry have described her. Chiqui demonstrates a sense of urgency, good humor, commitment and integrity in everything she does.
”Market Knowledge. Market Power." A repeat member of the firm’s select “Multi-Million-Dollar Club,” a top honor reserved exclusively for Corcoran’s high-volume agents in recognition of their outstanding sales achievements, Chiqui works in partnership with Corcoran Group Vice President Marisa Chaves to ensure the best possible outcome for their buyers and sellers, who rely on the team’s exemplary service and market knowledge to help them navigate the complexities of Manhattan’s real estate market. Marisa and Chiqui are dedicated to meeting sellers’ and buyers’ needs through a winning formula of professional sales service, creative marketing alternatives, and an in-depth knowledge of Manhattan’s real estate market. They know that the sale or purchase of your home is likely to be among the most important personal decisions and financial transactions of your lifetime. For this reason, always adhering to the highest professional standards, they sell real estate the way they would want it sold to them: they take the time to listen and to understand your goals and financial requirements, thoroughly educate you on the market, and help you to arrive at an informed decision. Marisa and Chiqui have an uncanny ability to facilitate a win-win exchange for both parties to a transaction. Whether you are a buyer or a seller, their job is to provide you with all of the resources necessary to help you achieve your real estate goals.
The team’s transition from the corporate world to partnering professionally at Corcoran has enabled the duo – who share all of life’s joys and challenges – to realize their dream of working together in their own business in a dynamic industry that takes full advantage of their talents and intense love of New York, where they work and play. Together, they are unmatched in their ability to deliver great service to their appreciative clientele, handling every transaction with skilled professionalism and earning the trust, good will and respect of all involved. From day one, clients and customers in every price range know that they are in exceptionally capable and caring hands. Nearly 100% of Marisa’s and Chiqui’s business is referral-based, and they are part of a select few at Corcoran with advanced relocation accreditations from Cartus Broker Network and USAAMoversAdvantage Program.
Prior to joining Corcoran, from 1999 to 2004, Chiqui held several senior legal and business positions at Reuters (now Thomson Reuters), the global financial services company best known as the world’s largest international news agency. Upon earning her law degree from Georgetown University Law Center in 1995, she became associated with the top-tier New York City law firm of Weil, Gotshal & Manges, until she was recruited by Reuters, one of the firm’s major clients. Earlier, from the mid-1980’s through the early 1990’s, Chiqui rose through the ranks of the National Endowment for Democracy, a Washington-DC based nonprofit, nonpartisan organization, where she was literally at the forefront of some of the most important events in recent Latin American history, working shoulder to shoulder with Latin American democratic activists for human rights and democracy in the region. Born in Havana, Cuba, she earned her B.S.F.S. in International Politics from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service in 1984.
Fluent in English and Spanish, Chiqui has traveled extensively and interacts comfortably with people from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds. Her broad interests include striped bass fishing, golf, and non-fiction reading. She is an active volunteer in her community and has served on the boards of numerous community and social service organizations and in an advisory capacity to elected officials in New York and Washington, DC on various matters of public interest.
