Ellen I. Sykes, VP Vice President Associate Broker

|
|
Native and life long New Yorker Ellen Sykes is a consummate professional who eases the real estate process for her clientele utilizing a wealth of market knowledge, seasoned interpersonal skills and business competency. By aptly identifying each buyer's and seller's needs from the start, Ellen capably pursues the best course of action leading to the ideal home or most successful property sale. She is recognized annually by Corcoran as a multi -million dollar specialist.
Ellen's former career in community relations and activism set the stage for her real estate career. After undergraduate studies in Italy, she returned to New York to join the staff of the then brand new South Street Museum. She has also worked professionally for the World Rehabilitation Fund and as Director of Volunteers and Community Relations for the Visiting Nurse Service of New York. As a volunteer she was President of the New York Philharmonic Council, a director of Operation Sail, a trustee of Millbrook School and took on other high-profile community-related roles. She later returned to school to earn her BA, Magna Cum Laude, from Fordham University and Executive Level Certificate from the Institute for Not-for-Profit Management at Columbia University's Business School.
Complementing her ability to bring all ends of a project or deal together is her extensive experience in renovation. Having renovated three apartments, built a house and acted as General Contractor on another has given Ellen a fund of knowledge on the nuts and bolts of construction and renovation.
When not out with clients or in the office she can usually be found either sailing on top of the water or scuba diving under it. She also retreats to a small farm in northwestern Connecticut where land conservation and alternative/sustainable forms of energy are her passions.
