Boerum Hill
Runs from Court Street to Fourth Avenue, with Degraw Street as its southern boundary and Atlantic, Hoyt and Fulton streets forming its border with downtown
Convenient to many of Brooklyn's top attractions - it's just south of the borough's downtown - Boerum Hill has fast gained recognition among for its central location and distinctive charm.
Residents working in Manhattan love the easy commute to work, and everybody else loves the restaurants: Smith Street on the edge of the neighborhood is Brooklyn's restaurant row. Check out the French bistro Bar Tabac, veggie favorite Cafe Kai, and new American sensation Restaurant Saul.
The Boerum Hill Historic District, an irregularly shaped area bounded by Hoyt, Nevins, Pacific and Wyckoff Streets has many gorgeous row homes that were built in the 1850s, during the building boom that followed the start of regular Manhattan-to-Brooklyn ferry service in 1936. Boerum Hill is also proud of its leafiness: six years ago landscaper Stan Murray started 'greening day,' now an annual neighborhood event.
