Deerfield Beach
Known for its serene beaches, Deerfield Beach is the pride of Broward County, located on the Atlantic Ocean just two miles south of Palm Beach County and 20 miles north of Fort Lauderdale.
In the early 1900s when the railroad tracks bisecting Deerfield were bordered on both sides by pineapple patches, it was an exotic tourist attraction. Today, the pineapples are gone, but Deerfield Beach is a thriving coastal city that received the Blue Wave Award in 2000 for being home to one of the most pristine beaches in the state of Florida.
Phenomenal growth and prosperity have marked the last few years in Deerfield Beach. In 1898 there were just 20 settlers; today, over 60,000 people reside in Deerfield. There are over 5,000 businesses ranging from small single-store retailers to major corporations.
It's no secret that Deerfield's Parks and Recreation services rank among the state's best. The area is highlighted by beautiful, well-maintained parks, an arboretum, boat ramps, tennis courts, playgrounds, weekly dancing on the beach, live entertainment during the summer, several annual special events, a teen center and a host of children's activities and sports.
Deerfield Beach also offers exquisite dining opportunities. Whether you seek a five-course meal served next to the ocean or a rustic wooden table overlooking the fishing boats, chances are you will find it in Deerfield Beach.
