Eastport
Eastport is one of the lesser-known and lesser-traveled portals to the South Fork. You'll find it just off a magical part of the Sunrise Highway where the traffic always moves, tucked between Center Moriches and Remensburg.
Much of the country-hamlet charm of Eastport lies in its 'road less traveled' atmosphere. Eastporters, especially those with backyard docks on Little Seatuck Creek, Moriches Bay, and East River, like it that way.
But the secret of Eastport is getting out. There are wonderful destinations spots there in addition to the waterways. For more than 20 years, Eastport has made a name for itself as an antiques market: There are well over a dozen shops in its historic district on Montauk Highway. Vintage duck decoys are especially beautiful and you can find expert carvers who whittle away today. Eastport also has a vibrant blues music scene. It's no wonder that more people see Eastport as a shortcut to paradise.
