East Quogue
The stately Victorian homes of East Quogue are a class unto themselves. They feature generous wraparound porches, wide lawns perfect for putting or puttering, and a surprising number have their own dock slips. What a great place to watch the world go by while you are living it up.
East Quogue is set amid cascading acres of farmland, scenic pine forest, and the vast reflecting pools of bay and ocean waters. Tiana Beach, on Dune Road, shows off a spectacular 1,000 feet of sandy beach coastline. Main Street, with its many historic structures from the late 1800s, is charming for both its architecture and its lovely shops. The Hamlet Green, especially its summer concerts, adds to the romance.
Many have succumbed to East Quogue's siren call and live there year round. For its many summer residents, East Quogue's location is another plus. You save at least a half hour in drive time from Manhattan and you can get to Westhampton in 10 minutes and to Southampton in 15.
