Jupiter

The town of Jupiter, which protrudes further into the Atlantic Ocean than any other point in Florida-is rich in history, with earliest known records of the Jupiter Inlet dating back to 1565.

It was during the 1800s that Jupiter's most identifiable landmark, the Jupiter Lighthouse, was built. The Lighthouse stands 105 feet tall atop a 46 ft. hill on the north shore of the Jupiter Inlet. The land that is now Lighthouse Park was once a part of Fort Jupiter, a military installation that was formed during the Seminole Indian Wars. Across the inlet, myriad restaurants and marinas offer today’s residents a place to gaze upon this historic location.
