Linda Lavin | According to The New York Times, Lavin's four-bedroom cooperative apartment is on Central Park West at 92nd Street. It was listed at $4.35 million. The listing for the apartment says that the "classic 8" has views of Central Park and the reservoir, from large picture windows. Lavin, 67, is best known for her title role on the television sitcom Alice, which ran from 1976 to 1985. Since then she has appeared on Broadway, winning a 1989 Tony Award for "Broadway Bound" and a nomination in 2001 for "The Tale of the Allergist's Wife." She has also been in a number of television movies and a few films, among them The Muppets Take Manhattan, oddly enough. The buyer was David M. Tolley, a principal at the Blackstone Group. His broker, Eileen LaMorte at The Corcoran Group, told the Times that Lavin's kitchen was reminiscent of the diner set in Alice. There's no word on where Lavin might be headed. She could not be reached for comment.
