About Wendy
Wendy Willumsen is always happy when people discover the beauty and unique lifestyle that Shelter Island affords. Most of all, she is glad to play an integral part in not only introducing customers to everything this special community has to offer, but in finding them the perfect home in which to spend their time.
Originally from Minneapolis, MN, Wendy initially wanted to pursue her degree at MN-Mankato State University in the airline transport industry. She earned her private pilot's license, but her life changed when getting married to a local boy, a ferry captain from Shelter Island. Wendy moved to the area in 1990 and is proud to not only live and work here, but to have raised the couple's three children in such a close-knit, unique environment.
As a Shelter Island real estate professional and proprietor of a home interior sewing business, Wendy is privileged to get to know buyers, sellers and renters, and to help secure and enhance their homes a one-on-one basis. After spending 20 years in the service industry prior to entering real estate, she truly understands the importance of personal attention, honest guidance and open communication in making a transaction successful, and is committed to fulfilling each individual's needs.
