Lantana
Named for an abundant tiny wildflower, Lantana is another one of Palm Beach County's quaint destinations that continues to offer the charm of a small town just a short drive from world-class museums, theaters and performing arts centers.
Lantana boasts is own Historical Society, a beautiful public beach, seven parks, public tennis courts, boat ramps and a new library. Its 31 acres of public parks include a nature preserve and a sports complex. The Lantana downtown master plan calls for an expansion of the waterfront Bicentennial Park Plaza to include a maritime museum and eco-tours, boardwalks, pavilions, day dockage and gardens.
Lantana is also committed to a Public Art project in Bicentennial Park, one that will reflect the town's character. Lantana's history as a fishing village and winter retreat are still a part of today's character, and the call for public art is designed to reflect the area's 'Floribbean' architectural style.
Lantana offers an abundance of waterfront dining establishments, and a wide range of shopping and dining options within its 2.5 square miles. Lantana enjoys a quiet suburban atmosphere, but is conveniently located close to all of the cultural attractions neighboring West Palm Beach, Lake Worth, Delray Beach and Boca Raton have to offer.
