| “Do not put that sweater down, even for an instant” lest you lose it amid the “garage-sale atmosphere” of this “all-time great designer” chainster where insiders beat a path to the Back Room for the “bonanza of bargains” on designers “from Jean-Paul Gaultier to Anne Klein”; the communal dressing rooms are kind of “like boarding school, with lots of opinions and sharing”, and if the absentee staff (“never met a salesperson in my life” here) leave fans lamenting it’s “not like the old days”, most maintain this “institution” still delivers “damn good” deals. |
