Weston
The City of Weston was conceived as a master-planned community of the fine residential neighborhoods and controlled service and commercial areas, all surrounded by the best of Florida’s natural landscape. Today, Weston has over 61,000 culturally diverse residents, A-rated public schools, superior parks and recreational facilities and a community-wide appearance that is a model for other municipalities around the nation. Weston prides itself in being distinctive and dynamic, yet tranquil and secure.
Located in western Broward County, Weston encompasses 25.5 square miles, including 1,877 acres of lakes and 1,686 acres of wetland mitigation. It is strategically located at the interchange of I-595 and I-75 with direct access to I-75 south to Miami, I-75 north to Naples, and I-595 east to Fort Lauderdale, Florida's Turnpike and I-95.
Weston also takes pride in its rich cultural and ethnic diversity – a diversity that’s also reflected in its many businesses. From Fortune 500 companies to family-owned boutiques, from quick, convenient restaurants to fine, intimate dining, and from hotels specializing in overnight business travelers to world-class spas – Weston has it all.
There are 14 parks and community recreation centers (all dog-friendly), including a Tennis Center. Weston offers a wealth of community events, including an annual tennis tournament, Concert in the Park series, art walks, Moonlight Movies in the Park series, annual Royal Egg Hunt, children’s puppet shows, educational seminars, and other holiday-related celebrations and festivals.
Westin is also home to 86 restaurants, seven hotels including the Bonaventure Resort and Spa, and 10 shopping plazas, and is just a short drive to greater Ft. Lauderdale and its tremendous number of dining, entertainment and cultural options.
