North Palm Beach
The small quiet Village of North Palm Beach is just nine miles north of Palm Beach island, and has retained its country-club feel since the 1950s. Full scale development and incorporation of the area occurred in 1956, with extensive dredging creating waterfront residential cul-de-sacs. For a small village, North Palm Beach boasts a tremendous number of waterfront homes with easy access to the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean.
North Palm Beach is located along the 'Treasure Coast' of Florida, which is relatively quiet and undeveloped when compared to its south county neighbors. It is home to Lost Tree Village, one of the first private colonies along Florida's Atlantic coast, and MacArthur Beach, which is nestled between the Atlantic Ocean and Lake Worth. This beautiful park features nature trails and a 1,600-foot boardwalk which spans Lake Worth Cove. MacArthur Beach is also a prime nesting area for sea turtles, where visitors can enjoy swimming, diving, boating, fishing and picnicking.
In 2006, Village resident Jack Nicklaus redesigned the town's golf course, which reopened in late 2006 to rave reviews. (What many may not know is that Nicklaus charged the Village of North Palm Beach only $1 for his services!).
