Jim Winters combines a unique blend of honesty, integrity, and grit that is rare in the real estate business. His clients know him as a straight shooter who tells it like it is - one customer praised Jim's character and approach to real estate as "absolutely novel by New York standards."
Extremely dedicated, competent and thorough, Jim guides his clients through every aspect of the real estate transaction, helping them make sound decisions and guaranteeing a seamless real estate experience. He prides himself not only on his patience, but also on his natural ability to teach and answer questions. As a result, he enjoys a high volume of referrals and repeat business.
Prior to entering the real estate profession in 2004, Jim had a successful 18-year career as a software developer and consultant with a number of Wall Street firms. Most recently, he and his team designed a risk management system for the equity derivatives trading floor at Credit Suisse. Jim became interested in real estate in 2003 while purchasing his first investment property, a three-family limestone. Soon after, he was bitten by the real estate bug and knew it was time for a change. He finds that his technical skills are a perfect match for selling and marketing real estate in the 21st Century.
Jim has lived in Brooklyn for 20 years, and according to many of his customers, his passion for the borough is infectious (he used to be a Brooklyn tour guide for Big Apple Greeters). He especially loves Prospect Park, where he and his wife met while walking their dogs. Ultimately, the Park served as the venue for the couple's wedding. Jim can be found in the park most mornings with the dogs, now joined by his new son, Nathan. He is also the author of the informative real estate blog, FromTheStoop.com.

Jim tirelessly showed our property, and consistently communicated with us. When our original buyer did not move quickly enough, Jim found us another. This resulted in an all-cash offer to purchase our home at a 12% increase in price.— Susan Nakamura, Seller
In my 25 years as an attorney, I have dealt with no better broker then Jim.— Brooklyn Attorney, Seller
My apartment was on the market for 6 months with another firm without a sale, within 4 weeks of switching to Jim, I had a buyer. Jim made for an amazing partner, he went the extra step every time and was a reassuring voice throughout the process.— Lisa Musich, Seller
Listing with Jim Winters was the best decision we could have made. Jim was professional, persistent and patient. He gave us excellent advice, worked well with our co-op board, and best of all he never stopped working for us until he closed the deal.— Court Harson, Seller
