About John

I bring a broad financial and legal background to the Corcoran Group. My career started at the international public accounting firm Touche Ross & Co. (now Deloitte &Touche). At Touche Ross, my clients included community banks heavily involved in residential mortgage lending, large retail companies and government agencies.

After leaving Touche Ross, I enrolled at the Villanova University School of Law in Main Line Philadelphia and received my Juris Doctor in 1988. My law school education included the traditional study of property and contract law and advanced seminars for structuring and financing real estate transactions.

I passed the New York and Connecticut bar examinations and began my legal career in the corporate department of the New York law firm of Kelley Drye & Warren and then at a boutique firm. My focus was primarily on corporate matters, including securities offerings, joint ventures and varied corporate transactions. I am admitted to both the New York and Connecticut Bar

I successfully apply the same focus and attention to the proper detail from my financial and legal background to the marketing of real estate. Further, because of my background I well understand the time restraints placed on the successful professional or businessperson looking to purchase or sell a cooperative or condominium apartment. Because of this understanding, I can easily establish the proper working relationship necessary to get the job done smoothly. I have been successfully representing purchasers and sellers since 1993. I have represented a broad spectrum of purchasers and sellers in transactions ranging from studios to 6,000 plus square foot duplexes and townhouses, from Riverside Drive to East End Avenue and from Barrow Street to the Columbia University neighborhood and into the Brooklyn enclaves of Park Slope and Brooklyn Heights in all price ranges from $85,000 to over $10,000,000. I have been ranked in the top 2% of NRT Sales Associates for 4 quarters.
