It has been a pleasure working with Lois; we have found her to be very experienced, knowledgeable, & responsive. We did not live in NYC and shopped for a realtor through the internet. Lois provided us with sound advice, she communicated clearly...— L & D Sedaghatfar, Seller
Change comes to everyone's life at some time. Whether it be positive or negative, it's great to have a strong person in your corner to be a champion for your cause. In matters of real estate, you want that person to be Lois Thompson. Knowledgable, tenacious, and transparent, Lois guides sellers and buyers through their experience with a deft hand and a sharp wit. She leaves no stone unturned in her efforts to market your property or to help you find the home of your dreams. As her clients & customers attest, Lois knows her craft. From in-depth market stats to what color curtain will make your listing pop, Lois has a grasp of every aspect of the sale and the search. Lois says, "It's a big world. I love Brooklyn but it does not define the boundaries of my work. I also work with relocating clients to other states as well as finding sellers outside of New York a Corcoran-quality Broker to handle their sale. The world is my territory."
A graduate of Pratt Institute, Lois lived in the Fort Greene/Clinton Hill area for years before buying a home in soon-to-be Historic Bedford-Stuyvesant. Seeing the importance of retail in the further development of a community, she has expanded her education to include Commercial Real Estate. "Retail is the engine that drives the train. And we are lucky enough, here in Bedstuy, to have a lot of smaller spaces that can cater to Mom and Pop shops. Lewis Avenue is but a small example of what is to come."
Lois found her niche in Real Estate after almost 20 years in the Film Industry where she worked in practically every department, including Camera Operator and Set/Construction Grip. She was a proud member of N.A.B.E.T. Local 15 now I.A.T.S.E. Local 52. Lois says,"Everything I learned in the film business prepared me for a career in Real Estate. Every detail matters. From knowing if floor joists are too far apart to sensing a buyer reacting to the color of an apartment rather than the apartment itself. It's almost like being a G.C. and a psychologist all in one!
