This 40-story, mid block, condominium tower, which is cantilevered six-and-a-half feet at its 14th floor over the adjacent Vanderbilt Branch of the YMCA of Greater New York building, faces, across the street, the famous townhouses that share a large common garden with similar townhouses on East 48th Street. The building was designed by Liebman Liebman Associates P.C., for Magma Equities Co., and the Hakimian Organization. This 173-unit tower is setback a bit on its base to match up with the cornice nice of the mid-rise building to its west. The tower itself is plain and simple except for a chamfered northwest corner, but its window pattern is very strong and quite elegant. The lower two floors of the base are clad in limestone to match the base of the building to the west. An outstanding amenity at the building is the shared terrace with fireplace and expansive views.
