The Gorham building was built in 1884 by Edward Hale Kendall, in a Queen Anne style. Close in character to the big London apartment houses of the 1880's, with a complicated red brick facade and bays of multipaned windows. The Goelet's , who owned most of Broadway between 19th and 20th streets had the building designed to house their business, the Gorham Silver Manufacturing company on the first two floors. The upper floors were advertised as 'gentleman's residences' creating one of the first mixed use buildings. This stretch of land was known as the' Ladies Mile' with other stores such as Tiffany. It boasts a spectacular landscaped roof garden with magical views, newly designed lobby, private keyed elevator, on site superintendent, and storage units.
Additional features of this building include: and all new windows, The Gorham Silver building built in 1883, + dining and seating areas, Landmark approved facade restoration, Landscaped Roof Garden w/panoramic views, Newly Designed Lobby, F/T Superintendent, Private keyed elevator.
