One Hanson Place is a loft conversion whose gilded clock tower rises 34 floors above the nexus of Fort Greene, Prospect Heights, Park Slope and Boerum Hill. The former Williamsburgh Bank Building, it was landmarked in the 1970s and in 2006, converted to 175 condominiums ranging in size from studios to full-floor penthouses. All units feature top of the line finishes and a minimum of 10.5 foot-high ceilings. Built in 1927 by the architectural firm of Halsey, McCormack and Helmer, One Hanson Place is known for its red-lit clock and the gorgeous lobby's blue mosaic-tiled arched ceiling. The six-story former bank space within the building, (now leased by Skylight One Hanson as an event space) is ornately detailed in a Byzantine-Romanesque style and has been acknowledeged as one of the most recognizable interiors in New York. Doctors' offices are located on the seventh floor and have their own entrance on Ashland Ave. The building sits at the center of the expanding BAM Cultural District and features direct access to the Atlantic Terminal, New York City's second largest transportation hub (2,3,4,5.N.R,B,D,Q and the LIRR).
