Every ten blocks of the Upper West Side seem to have their own character: the 70s and 80s have their share of “Classic Six” prewar apartments (that’s three bedrooms, a living room, dining room, and kitchen, as opposed to a “Classic Seven,” which has all that plus a room for the maid or domestic staff, sometimes used as a home office.)
