A Townhouse for Everyone

New construction steals all the headlines lately, but can any glass cube rival the pleasures of a townhouse? Privacy, old bones and outdoor space are all the domain of the single-family home in New York, along with a sense that you're part of the city's streetscape rather than far above it. There's no co-op board to tell you that you can't put a sauna in your full-floor master bath, and you can exhibit perfectly terrible taste without others fretting that you will send building comps south. That said, urban cocooning is not problem-free: six bedrooms can be an awful lot to fill. Is there a townhouse in your future? Consult our pricing guide to find out.
