MACKLOWE PROPERTIES announced the sale of the penthouse at its 737 Park Avenue condominium project for $32 million - the second most expensive penthouse sale in the history of Park Avenue.

"The record Penthouse sale at 737 Park Avenue validates Macklowe Properties strategy to purchase this overlooked rental building and transform it into a condominium building on par with Park Avenue's finest co-ops " said Richard Dubrow, director of marketing at Macklowe Properties, which bought the building in 2011 for a reportedly $250 million.

"Buyer's have enthusiastically embraced this project and we look forward to a successful completion," added Dubrow.

The building's original 104 rental units were reconfigured into 56 condos that are now completed and ready for occupancy.

The remaining inventory includes residence 12A, a 6,111 s/f unit for $25 million.

The $32 million penthouse occupies the entire 21st floor and roof. It has a 6,003 s/f white box interior and 2,271 slf of wrap-around terrace.

Hilary Landis and Danielle Pessis, associate brokers at The Corcoran Group handled the sale for Macklowe Properties. Adam Modlin, president of The Modlin Group, represented the un-named buyer.
