Ocean Ridge
Situated between Lake Worth and Boynton Beach, Ocean Ridge is a coastal community originally founded by 13 families who seceded from neighboring Boynton Beach. Over the years, Ocean Ridge has grown into an environmentally oriented town where all homes are within walking distance of the ocean, and many boast private docks on the Intracoastal Waterway.
Ongoing restoration of eroding beaches, protection of sea turtles, and continued beautification of Ocean Ridge are its residents' main concerns. Low-key, low-density and low-profile all characterize Ocean Ridge. Ocean Inlet Park offers frontage on both the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean, with a jetty, marina, rented boat slips, children's play area, ocean overlook, seating pavilion and volleyball area.
The 12.35-acre Ocean Ridge Natural Area is part of a 25-acre nature preserve along the Intracoastal Waterway just south of the Ocean Avenue Bridge. A scenic wooden boardwalk winds through a tree-canopied, natural environment, leading to a two-story observation platform, an educational kiosk and a nine-slip boat dock available for daytime use.
