Williamsburg’s vibrant energy is contagious to everyone who visits. It’s internationally established as an important center for the NY art, music and increasingly dance and film scenes. With hundreds of gallieries, live performance venues, quirky community events, retro activities, trend setting games and events, clubs meeting places and lounges of every variety and many of the best restaurants NY has to offer, there could never be any shortage of fun things to do in the area.
The well known growth the neighborhood experienced over the last decade has not erased the intimate yet urban feeling but helped add to the diversity, strength, community and amenities the neighborhood has to offer. Some of the community projects incluce continued development of 54 acres of open park land including a 2 mile waterfront stretch and the city funded renovation of McCarren Park and its facilities.
Williamsburg has easy access to the city. The L train was the first subway to become completely automated and is currently one of the best rated trains in the city just one stop from Manhattan. Lesser known, but very quick, the G train is a commute to the 7 line into Grand Central. Additional east river ferries are underway docking from Wall Street to 34th. And the Williamsburg Bridge, Midtown Tunnel and the Queensborough bridge are all within a few blocks.
