Chicago

New Eastside is actually (mostly) new, a rarity in a downtown. It’s a small neighborhood full of luxury high-rise residential buildings, and the people who call it home enjoy a virtual peninsula of city into spaces of green and blue. To the north is the Chicago River and the Riverwalk, to the south is Millennium Park, and to the east is Lake Michigan. It’s even centered around its own six-acre park. Knowing that you can probably imagine that the views are among the best in the city. For a neighborhood so smack-dab in the middle of everything recreational and cultural, New Eastside can be surprisingly quiet. There’s little retail, restaurants, or nightlife within its confines, though all of that is close by. Indeed, the fact that it's so easy around without a car is sort of the point, as it’s one of the most pedestrian-friendly areas of the city.
