About Peter

One of the most respected and successful brokers on Long Island's East End, Peter Huffine has spent more than 20 years exceeding the expectations of his clients purchasing, selling or renting prime Hamptons real estate. His culmination of expert market knowledge, hands-on building experience and proven marketing expertise are key to his effectiveness, and continually drive clients to refer him business.
Originally from Vermont, Peter earned a Bachelor degree in Economics and English Literature, spending a year studying at Oxford University in England. He landed his first job in advertising on Madison Avenue with the prominent Young & Rubicam, rising the ranks in account management to Senior Vice President.
After years of providing expert service and handling new business development, he went to the client side as head of marketing for several brands at Nine West, all the while shuffling back and forth to the Hamptons to enjoy the scenery and sell real estate. Peter eventually made his largest sale, $35 million for the landmark Villa Maria, then surpassed that recently selling Wooldon Manor on Gin Lane in Southampton for $75 million to the same investor, the late founder of Nine West with whom he enjoyed a very long relationship.
Peter's strength lies in his marketing genius and creative, out-of-the-box thinking, as well as his hard work ethic. He is always the first one in the office, dressed appropriately for every situation and ready to go at the drop of a dime.

Peter is also very hands-on, and boasts a very good rapport with builders, tradesmen and suppliers who he keeps close tabs on during the construction process of a client's brand new home or a builder's latest creation. A "frustrated architect," he has designed and built all of his own homes, including the one in Water Mill where he currently resides, so he knows all about the process.
When signing on his exclusives, Peter is highly selective, in that he wants to be able to provide his full focus and attention to each property. He partners with Frederick Wallenmaier at Corcoran to ensure that every detail is covered, and each deal closes without a hitch.
Peter loves to travel when time allows. In addition to tennis, swimming and skiing. Peter supports several local causes such as God's Love We Deliver and Animal Rescue Fund, and is known to put his own needs aside to help those less fortunate. He is a pillar in the community and a mentor to his friends.
