Get to know Aquebogue

Located at the start of Long Island’s North Fork in the town of Riverhead, Aquebogue lies just west of Jamesport. At 3.9 square miles, the hamlet is small and well situated, curving around Flanders Bay and with Route 25/Main Road meandering across its length. There you’ll find both basic and professional services, coffee and tackle shops, the beloved North Fork Chocolate Company, and the turnoffs to various farms (Breitenbach Farms, Woodside Orchards) and vineyards (Paumanok, the Vineyards at Aquebogue). At the south end of Aquebogue, sharp creeks cut into the land, and marinas and dockside dining dot the bay.

Commerce & Culture

Much easier to love than it is to pronounce, Aquebogue beats a low-key drum that resonates with a rising tide these days, balancing bountiful farm fields and boat-forward activities in a no-frills coupling of the Hamptons and the Hudson Valley's finest traits. Dockside eateries, side-of-the-road veggie stands and the ironically-retro neon sign on Modern Snack Bar cast a frozen-in-time hue, while the haute Aqua by American Beech welcomes overnight guests to high-style rooms overlooking its hidden Peconic Bay beach.
