How should we connect with you?

    Rumson

Nobody quite knows the true meaning of the name Rumson, other than that it was shortened from the equally cryptic Lenape word “Navarumsunk” way back in 1663. If nothing else, it translates to a majestic peninsular community between the Navesink and Shrewsbury Rivers, coupling Miami-like veins of inland, drawbridged waterways with the grandeur of coastal New England at the gateway to the Jersey Shore. Once a resort community for summering Manhattanites, Rumson attracted countless estates by the turn of the last century, many on spacious waterfront parcels with docks. With just 7,000 residents across 11 square miles, the population density remains lower than surrounding communities, offering larger lots with considerable privacy. Residential neighborhoods compose most of Rumson, mingling with a handful of parks and a country club — nearby Red Bank, Sea Bright, and Little Silver offer downtown experiences just minutes away.
