West New York

West New York is, as its name suggests, directly to the west of New York City, though somewhat confusingly, the town is actually part of New Jersey. West New York sits alongside the Hudson River, and residents often head into the nearby towns of Union City and Weehawken for dining and shopping. Commuters can catch the ferry from Weehawken to midtown Manhattan or ride on the numerous public and private bus routes that also go into New York City. The Hudson River Waterfront Walkway, a 30-foot-wide path that stretches for 18.5 miles from the tip of Bayonne to the George Washington Bridge, borders the eastern edge of the city. Housing on the waterfront is generally the most coveted and the most expensive, as residences have a panoramic view of the Manhattan skyline, as well as access to the walkway right outside their front doors.
