About David

David's last name, Bonavita, of Italian origin, translates to “good life.” His namesake is his daily reminder to live a good life every day through his actions, how he lives, where he lives, and the people with whom he chooses to surround himself. Just as much, David wants a good life for his clients as well, and feels honored to help them find a home they love for that purpose.

“I serve each of my real estate clients with dedication, respect, guidance and knowledge. My relationships with them are invaluable to me, and having their trust is the greatest compliment. Although I work with properties, servicing clients is truly the business that I am in, and I take that responsibility seriously from beginning to end of our journey together. Hopefully, the bond that forms will last a lifetime, and they will always call upon me as their needs and lifestyles change.”

Originally from Connecticut, David holds a BA in Psychology and an MS in Organizational Leadership from Quinnipiac University located in Hamden, CT. He also has a Certificate in Internet Technology from New York University. Prior to real estate, he worked for 20 years in digital user experience design and product development, using his creative and technical skills as well as business knowledge to provide services for Citibank, Mastercard, GE, Barnes & Noble, NBC News and Architectural Digest, to name a few.

David is well trained to listen to his client, clearly identify, articulate and define their goals and objectives, then translate that into an actionable result-driven plan. Having lived in Manhattan for 22 years, and as a co-op owner and board member for many years, he brings unique neighborhood insight and a residential perspective to the process of buying or renting. David is married and is a longtime resident of the Upper West Side. David and his West Highland White Terrier, Dillon, are a certified therapy dog team that volunteer through the Good Dog Foundation working with children in grief counseling and for a reading program helping children with reading difficulty.

David helped us in the sale of 203 W 98th Street, 4E. Without his diligent, enthusiastic, and assertive personality; the sale wouldn't have been possible. He takes his business serious, but at the same time he's friendly and approachable. Unlike many other brokers, David was easy to approach and was always available for questions and concerns. We felt like we were dealing with a family member.
— Nelson A., Upper West Side, Seller
David was fantastic to work with and made everything a breeze! He was proactive and knowledgeable at every possible juncture. He did everything and more to make the process smooth, pleasant, and stress-free!
— Christina G., Upper West Side, Seller
David was absolutely instrumental in our search for an apartment on the Upper West Side. He worked hard to ensure that we found a place that perfectly suited our needs, and he did so in a way that was thorough, collaborative, and productive. We never felt rushed or stressed with David. It was clear he truly had our best interest in mind and would not stop working until we found a place we loved.
— Lindsey K., Rental Client
David was insanely helpful in our move to the Upper West Side from Michigan. Knowing we would only have 1-2 days to look at apartments, he worked with us via phone, email & shared spreadsheet to figure out where we would be looking when we came into town. He was attentive, knew what we wanted and never pushed us into anything while also knowing exactly where to go and what we should be looking for
— Kevin, Rental Client
I can't imagine having a better experience with an agent. David patiently showed me many apartments that fit my needs, helped me understand various tradeoffs, and really cared about me finding the right place. He was in constant contact through text and email during the process and I found an amazing apartment because he was able to get me in to see it before anyone else had.
— Christopher, Rental Client
David Bonavita. David Bonavita. David Bonavita. Diligent. Professional. Committed. Dedicated. Emphatic. Magician. Within one week we signed a lease on an amazing apartment in Manhattan. David went to the mat and fought for us, using not only his business acumen, but his heart and soul as well. Rare for a broker, and even more rare in the big city.
