Karen Kemp is a seasoned real estate aficionado who has for many years been called upon by major investors seeking to capitalize on her proven guidance and knowledge. Having built and managed her own impressive portfolio of property developments, as well as a reputation for pioneering new up-and coming neighborhoods, Karen possesses unparalleled insight and vision into the unique NYC marketplace and its plethora of investments.
This Michigan native earned a degree in Psychology from Michigan State University with an emphasis on Asian Studies then lived abroad in Japan for two years working diverse jobs, which included doing sculptural installations for an architectural firm.
Her next move was to Los Angeles where she embraced the film industry as an art director. After graduate studies at Pratt Institute in New York, Karen enjoyed a lengthy career as a television art director. During that time, she stumbled on the world of real estate investing quite by accident. Karen's sharp business skills, coupled with her seasoned aesthetic eye and visual marketing experience, set the perfect stage for real estate - fueling her ability to relate to the appropriate market for resale units she moves for her investors, and her flair for highlighting positive aspects of the most challenging sale via the effective use of staging: color and furniture placement.
From 1995 to 2006, she was actively and successfully involved in the conversion of commercial buildings to artist lofts, always with her hand on the pulse of emerging artist neighborhoods - from Williamsburg, Bushwick and DUMBO in Brooklyn to Harlem and others in Manhattan. Karen developed a long and loyal following of domestic and international investors, handling everything bulk property sales, REOs, new developments and more. Today she still capably advises these clients and many others as a real estate sales specialist with The Corcoran Group.
Customers and clients benefit greatly from Karen's acute eye for value, as well as her hands-on service and outstanding results. Whether you are searching for a single home to call your own, are looking to invest in a block of units, land or commercial space, or have a prized property to sell, Karen will handle your business with utmost care, precision and professionalism. A New York City resident since 1993, Karen has lived in both Manhattan and Brooklyn. She also enjoys a home upstate in beautiful Woodstock, NY when time allows.
