    South Slope

    South Slope is hidden in plain sight along Prospect Park’s western edge. It can be easy to miss at Windsor Terrace’s doorstep, anchored between storied Park Slope and expansive Sunset Park. A proliferation of low-rise prewar rowhouses on quintessential tree-lined streets — joined by modern condominiums rising along the avenues — amplify an inherent charm, further aided by proximity to Prospect Park’s Bartel–Pritchard Square entrance. Head south of South Slope to arrive at Green-Wood Cemetery’s gates. Green-Wood is a gothic green space landmark with gorgeous landscapes and remarkable architecture — plus one of Brooklyn’s best sunset views. One piece of history within South Slope is the 14th Regiment Armory, a brick-and-stone castle-like structure on Eighth Avenue. Used as an actual armory for decades following a c.1895 completion, it’s now a museum and community rec center.
