Susan Breitenbach

Senior Vice President,

The Corcoran Group

It seems that real estate and architecture have become a Breitenbach family business.

My son Matt joined me six years ago, and it has brought a whole other dimension to my business. After being the top broker for so many years, I didn't think it was possible, but the enthusiasm, technology and insight he has brought has made us grow tenfold. My husband, Stephen, at Breitenbach Builders, is now joining forces with our other son at Coastline Construction. And just recently, my daughter interviewed with one of the highest-end luxury construction firms in NYC. It's been amazing, although family dinner conversation has taken a different turn.

How have buyers changed?

Buyers are all looking for value, and most are not buying emotionally, which was what they were doing in the past.

What are the best Hamptons towns for buyers?

I think one of the best values is Bridgehampton. North of the highway it's one of the best-kept secrets; it has that "south of the highway" feel with open spaces, the Atlantic Golf Club and Two Trees Farm (for horseback riding and polo), but you can get a little more land and privacy.

Eight Hither Lane, a prestigious location and East Hampton perfection. It has incredible landscaped property and an amazing custom house by Jeffrey Colle. It's very, very special and an incredible value a must-see for any East Hampton buyer!
