COMMON CHARGES $427 a month; taxes: $762

PROS Every room in the apartment gets good natural light and the terrace overlooks a double-deep row of backyards. There is a washer and vented dryer in the apartment and additional storage in the building’s basement. The apartment is about a block and a half from the G train at Greenpoint Avenue.

CONS The building is self-managed and does not have a lobby, doorman or other amenities. The entrance to the unit’s front door is up a flight of stairs, an inconvenience for those carrying packages or a stroller. One of the three bedrooms is on the first floor, which may be undesirable for a family with young children.
