400 WEST 58TH STREET, APARTMENT 3JK
The Facts: Two-bedroom, two-bath co-op.
Asking Price: $999,000.
Maintenance: $1,644 per month.
Agent: Jeff Sholeen, the Corcoran Group.

Who: Tom Koltis, corporate lawyer; Avgy Koltis, marketing manager; and their dog, Saki.
How long have you been looking?
Avgy: We've been looking for about a year.
Ever made an offer?
Avgy: Yes! Tom: Two or three.
So what happened?
Tom: Usually it's a bidding war . Our other big thing is trying to get a washer-dryer in the apartment. In New York, that really narrows your search.
Avgy: [But] we're willing to compromise.

Who: Brett Ward, attorney, and Ekaterina Ward, project manager.
How long have you been looking?
Brett: On and off for about a year, but it's been tough. You have to make fast decisions.
Do you like the place?
Brett: Right now, the two-bedrooms under a million have all kinds of problems. This has a beautiful kitchen, two nice bathrooms. So we're impressed.

Who: Jane Mackie, hotel executive, and Edward O'Hara, hedge-fund adviser.
So you moved to Greenwich?
Jane [laughing]: Yeah. Can we not print that? It may be bad for my reputation! We just got married four weeks ago, and I'm still getting used to it. We want a footprint in the city, so the question is, Do we keep [my apartment near here] or do something different?
How often would you use the pied-…-terre?
Edward: Maybe a couple of days a week. The combination of city and country .
Keeps you sane?
Edward: Exactly!
