Gary L. Malin is the principal figure in the day-to-day operations, strategic planning and overall vision for one of New York City’s largest and most successful real estate firms. Long recognized for its prominence in residential rentals, Citi Habitats is also among the city’s most active sales firms. In addition, the company is one of the top marketers of new developments across the five boroughs. Malin has been a member of the Citi Habitats team for over two decades - first as corporate counsel, then as Chief Operating Officer. He was named President in 2008. As the firm’s leader, he helps agents build strong client relationships – with renters, buyers, sellers and property owners alike. Malin believes that real estate is a “hospitality” business - and putting clients’ needs before one’s own is critical to long-term success in the industry. He is also a firm believer in the importance of comprehensive training and continuing education programs, as well as using the latest technology to improve the agent experience. A state-of-the-art agent education facility is a testament to the firm’s commitment to helping real estate professionals build and grow their careers. In 2015, Malin was instrumental in expanding the firm’s brokerage and new development marketing business to Brooklyn, through the purchase of aptsandlofts.com – a leading real estate firm in the borough. By 2016, Citi Habitats was named the largest new development marketer in Brooklyn by The Wall Street Journal. In addition, Malin shapes the company’s brand through his hands-on involvement with marketing and public relations initiatives; builds and maintains alliances with key real estate entities and professionals; and directs all of Citi Habitats’ divisions. He is also a go-to source for the real estate media. Malin’s expertise has been featured in The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg News and Forbes – as well as a myriad of other local and national news outlets. Originally from Great Neck, NY, he is a graduate of the University of Michigan and Tulane Law School. A licensed attorney, Malin is a member of the Real Estate Board of New York. Today and in the future, Malin’s primary objective is to ensure that Citi Habitats remains the industry leader in forward-thinking, customer service-centered real estate firms.
