My ex-wife and I met Whitney at the housewarming party for some friends of ours, for the house that he helped them find. We thought it was nice that he was engaged enough in their life that he was at the party, and chatted with him for a while. Although we were not officially looking to buy, we had been contemplating it. We got on his mailing list to receive his e-mail newsletter, which was very informative and helpful in following the state of the market, and we would toss some questions his way every now and then. He understood that we weren't ready yet and never pressured us. Some time later, I think probably years, we started getting more serious about it, but everything was so expensive and we hadn't settled on what kind of place we would want.
