About Joan
Joan Dougherty moved to New York City in 1988 and bought her first Manhattan co-op in 1991 as an 'insider', handling all the offering plan and mortgage documents herself, and ultimately selling the apartment for a substantial profit. When Joan and her family were searching for a larger home in 1998, she did extensive research and scoured the city to find the perfect place – a landmark townhouse in Greenpoint, Brooklyn which she renovated, preserving its original charm. Now, Joan is sharing her passion and enthusiasm for NYC real estate with her clients.

Clients share praise for Joan Dougherty.

“Just the idea of moving was overwhelming to me…until I met Joan. She was patient, proactive and got me $900K more than I ever dreamed possible—before my landmarked townhouse even got on the market! I liked that she already had a pool of pre-approved, pre-qualified—and ultimately cash—buyers who were willing to work with me as my memories were replaced with their new dreams in my home.”

“We never thought “concierge services” would apply to us; Joan treated us like stars. She listed and sold our childhood townhouse at the first open house for 4% more than other agents wanted to list; connected us with lawyers, movers and relocation services…..she even drove us to the airport when we retired to FL!”
