Jefferson

Jefferson is the county seat of Jackson County and its residents consider it a hidden gem. Located right between Gainesville and Athens, Jefferson is conveniently located for a commute to either of the nearby metropolises. Here, you’ll find plenty of spacious single-family houses in golf and country club communities with great amenities, including pools, tennis courts, and of course, golf courses. There are also houses available separate from the subdivisions, many on substantial acreage. Most residences here are new construction and there are often opportunities to customize the details or even to build a new house from the ground up. There’s a small downtown with a handful of local independent eateries, plus a few supermarkets nearby. For a larger selection of dining and shopping, it’s about a half hour drive to either Gainesville or Athens.
