Get to know Greenbrae

Greenbrae is a small, unincorporated community in Marin County bordered by Ross, Larkspur, and Kentfield. Movie buffs might recognize the remains of "Dirty Harry Trestle," the old NWP Railroad drawbridge in town that appeared in the film's iconic finale. Greenbrae’s unbeatable convenience and close proximity to San Francisco make it a desirable locale for many. It's also known as being home to Bon Air, the sizable shopping and dining hub along Sir Francis Drake Boulevard that’s a popular errand stop for those traveling towards San Anselmo from 101 and the Larkspur Landing ferry terminal. Beyond Bon Air's 50-something merchants and Marin General Hospital, Greenbrae is mostly residential, with neighborhoods of townhouses and single-family homes stretching from the hills down to the water — you’ll even find some houseboats. Many properties enjoy majestic views of Mount Tamalpais, Corte Madera Creek, and the bay.

Living in Marin County

Marin County represents the best of two amazing worlds. It has easy access to the global metropolis that is San Francisco yet is rich with the wonders of the natural in its parks, trails, and beaches. As an urban place, Marin is an assortment of small towns, each with its own distinct vibe. As a natural place (one, it should be noted, that’s noticeably sunnier than the city) it contains giant forests and miles upon miles of hiking and biking trails, and it’s close to the agricultural and vinicultural wonderlands of Napa and Sonoma. Those who want to live in Marin and work in the city enjoy what may be the world’s most beautiful commute options — either via the Golden Gate Bridge or by ferry (or even kayak) across the San Francisco Bay.
