Get to know Prospect Heights
One of Brooklyn’s smaller neighborhoods, Prospect Heights sits north of Prospect Park, south of Atlantic Avenue, east of Flatbush, and west of Washington. Its location is one of its principal appeals, with 10 subway lines and the Long Island Rail Road serving Atlantic Terminal, and a number of Brooklyn highlights just a stone’s throw away. It can tend to be overshadowed by its neighbors, Fort Greene and Park Slope, but the area definitely has its own relaxed character and its own main street, Vanderbilt Avenue. Increasingly, the Barclays Center at the neighborhood’s northwestern corner and the planned Pacific Park (aka Atlantic Yards) project along its northern edge are ushering in luxury developments, many of them conversions of existing loft and warehouse buildings.
