A condominium at 988 Fifth Avenue that closed for $20 million was the highest sale of the week, according to Streeteasy.com.

Deborah Kern, a broker with the Corcoran Group who handled the deal for the sellers, confirmed the sale price, which has not yet been recorded in city property records. A three-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bath apartment, it had been listed a year ago for $22 million. It was taken off the market in December and relisted for $20 million in May, going into contract in August, according to Streeteasy. Ms. Kern would not identify the sellers or the buyers.

Records show that the apartment — at 80th Street, in a 14-story building designed by J. E. R. Carpenter that dates to 1925 — last sold in 2005 for $10.95 million. The building has 12 apartments, each taking up an entire floor.

Big Ticket includes closed deals from the previous week, ending Wednesday.
