Marc Rowan Unloads His Meadow Lane Estate For $28.5M

The last time we took a look at this six-bedroom oceanfront estate belonging to Apollo Global Management's co-founder—and the 854th richest human being on the planet—Marc Rowan, we said that its 9000 sq. ft. of living space was going to cost you $34M. Well, sometime between then and now, Mr. Rowan found a buyer for the Will Schulz-designed traditional on Meadow Lane. Final purchase price? A whopping $28.5M—the biggest sale as yet recorded for 2012. We'll have to wait for a couple of other properties currently in contract to close before we know if it'll maintain that title, but there's a very real chance that you're looking at the most expensive transaction of the year.
