NEW YORK, NY – August 19, 2005, – The Corcoran Group, one of the country’s leading residential brokerage firms, announced today the promotion of Terence Thomas from manager to director of information systems.  In his new role, Mr. Thomas will oversee the brokerage’s complex network infrastructure which services Corcoran’s 46 offices in New York City, the East End of Long Island and Palm Beach, Fla.  He will also be responsible for the development and implementation of technology for which Corcoran is renowned, including its award-winning Website corcoran.com.

“The more than one-million unique visitors to corcoran.com each month are why this promotion is so well deserved and such a pleasure to announce,” says Corcoran Group CEO Pamela Liebman. “Terence has been an exemplary leader for a team of creative thinkers who together give brokers and clients alike the fast, unencumbered access to information that is vital in serving the needs of today’s home buyers and sellers.”

Prior to joining The Corcoran Group in 2000, Thomas, 34, worked for several prestigious Manhattan law firms where he oversaw the successful enhancement of network systems and core applications.  He holds a bachelor of science in information technology from Brooklyn College where he specialized in computer programming.  Thomas, who will continue to work from The Corcoran Group’s corporate headquarters located at 660 Madison Avenue in Manhattan, lives in Amityville, Long Island with his wife Izett and two children, nine and five.
