The April 7 article, "Owners of former site for housing make deal," reads that the Briggs property on Menantic Road is "under contract with an Island realtor." The term "realtor" is a registered trademarked term that identifies a real estate professional who is a member of the National Association of Realtors and subscribes to its strict Code of Ethics. The broker in the article is a licensed real estate broker but not a realtor. At the present time, Allan Schneider Associates is the only real estate office with realtors on
Shelter Island.
